Role Overview

The System Audit Officer will work within the Internal Audit unit, which serves as an independent function that supports risk management and compliance across the bank.
This role focuses on reviewing IT systems, evaluating internal controls, and ensuring that technology processes meet required standards. The officer will also help identify risks and suggest practical solutions to improve system security and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Planning and Execution

• Develop and review audit programs for assigned tasks
• Carry out audits based on approved plans and scope
• Perform risk assessments, control testing, and document findings
• Work closely with process owners during audit activities
• Review systems such as operating systems, databases, and business applications
• Use audit tools and systems where available to improve efficiency

Audit Reporting and Follow Up

• Prepare draft audit reports for review by team leads
• Raise audit observations and ensure proper documentation
• Follow up on audit findings to track resolution progress

Working Papers and Documentation

• Maintain clear and organized audit working papers
• Ensure all audit evidence is accurate, relevant, and sufficient

Data Analytics and Audit Support

• Provide data analysis support for audit activities
• Assist in developing automated audit processes
• Respond to internal data requests when required

General Duties

• Support other audit assignments as assigned by management
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Qualification

• Minimum of a second class lower degree in Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field
• Additional qualifications such as MBA, MSc, or professional certifications will be an advantage

Experience

• 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role

Technical Knowledge

• Understanding of information systems audit practices
• Knowledge of IT systems, controls, and risk assessment
• Basic knowledge of banking operations
• Experience in data analysis and reporting
