Role Overview

TAAS College is hiring an experienced Cook to support daily meal preparation for students and staff. The role involves cooking healthy and balanced meals while keeping the kitchen clean, organized, and safe. The Cook will work closely with kitchen assistants to ensure meals are served on time and meet hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily meals based on approved school menus
• Cook nutritious and well-balanced meals for students and staff
• Ensure food is served on time and in proper portions
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times
• Follow food safety and health guidelines during food preparation
• Plan meals and control food usage to reduce waste
• Store food items correctly and monitor ingredient quality
• Supervise kitchen assistants and coordinate daily kitchen tasks
• Keep simple records of food supplies and kitchen activities

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience as a cook
• Experience in a school, hotel, or catering environment is an advantage
• Good knowledge of local and continental meals
• Strong understanding of food hygiene, safety, and nutrition
• Ability to work under pressure and meet meal schedules
• Good time management and organization skills
• Physically fit and able to handle kitchen duties
• Ability to work alone and with a team
• Clear communication skills

Educational Requirements

• Culinary training or cooking certification is an advantage
• Food safety or catering certification is a plus

Location Requirement

• Applicant must live in Ibadan or be willing to relocate close to the school

Salary

N45,000 to N60,000 per month
