Role Overview

The Factory Accountant will be responsible for managing financial activities within the production facility. This role focuses on cost control, inventory management, financial reporting, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working closely with production and supply chain teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep accurate and up to date financial records for factory operations
• Prepare regular management and operational finance reports
• Track production costs, review variances, and suggest cost reduction ideas
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly factory financial statements
• Manage inventory records including raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods
• Carry out stock valuation and regular reconciliation
• Support factory budgeting and forecasting activities
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies
• Work closely with production and supply chain teams to improve financial efficiency
• Support statutory audits and communicate with external auditors when needed
• Provide financial analysis to support pricing, production planning, and resource use

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Minimum of three to five years accounting experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and factory accounting processes
• Good knowledge of inventory control and stock management
• Experience using accounting software such as SAP, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar systems
• Sound understanding of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations
• Strong analytical and problem solving ability
• Good communication skills and ability to work with different departments
• Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage

Salary

Monthly salary range is between N250,000 and N350,000
