Job Summary

The Farm Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the livestock farm, ensuring optimal animal health, production efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. This role involves planning, supervision, and the management of farm resources to achieve production goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily livestock feeding, care, and welfare.
• Monitor animal health, coordinate vaccinations, and liaise with veterinary teams.
• Manage breeding programs and production schedules to meet targets.
• Lead and train farm staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Keep accurate records of production, feed usage, treatments, and stock levels.
• Enforce biosecurity measures and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Prepare farm budgets, manage operational costs, and track inventory.
• Oversee the maintenance of farm facilities and equipment.
• Submit periodic performance and operational reports to management.
• Implement innovative farming techniques to improve efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum of HND/B.Sc. in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Animal Production and Health, Agricultural Science, or related fields.
• At least 3 years’ experience managing livestock or poultry farm operations.
• In-depth knowledge of animal husbandry, nutrition, and biosecurity practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make timely, informed decisions.
• Proficiency in farm management software and Microsoft Office applications.
