Role Overview

The Field Operator III will be responsible for operating and maintaining field equipment and wells to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production operations. The role involves monitoring well performance, implementing safety guidelines, and supporting maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize output.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor wells and production equipment according to standard operating and safety procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, health, and environmental policies at all times.
  • Participate actively in toolbox and safety meetings.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions to optimize equipment performance and minimize failures.
  • Carry out basic maintenance and inspection of field equipment.
  • Record operational data, report abnormalities, and maintain accurate shift handover notes.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities according to preventive and corrective schedules.
  • Take product samples for laboratory analysis and conduct basic field tests.
  • Support emergency response activities and report incidents promptly.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors and team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Diagnose well production issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure wellhead equipment and systems are maintained in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with Wellwork teams during intervention and maintenance operations.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Engineering or related field; additional certifications are an advantage.
  • 15–20 years of experience in field operations within the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge of pipeline and production operations.
  • Excellent understanding of safety, health, and environmental management systems.
  • Familiarity with emergency preparedness and response procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proven ability to identify, report, and resolve operational issues effectively.
  • Understanding of relevant industry regulations and design specifications.
