Role Overview

The Field Radio Engineer will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and optimizing radio frequency network infrastructure. The role requires hands-on technical expertise in RF systems, strong troubleshooting skills, and strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards to ensure reliable network performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission radio equipment, antennas, and related infrastructure at field sites.

• Ensure all installations comply with technical specifications and safety standards.

• Monitor and troubleshoot RF network issues, including interference and equipment faults.

• Carry out routine preventive maintenance to maximize network uptime.

• Conduct RF measurements and performance tests to optimize network coverage and capacity.

• Analyze and adjust radio parameters to improve network efficiency.

• Maintain accurate site records, including equipment logs, site surveys, and test results.

• Prepare and submit reports on network performance and field issues.

• Collaborate with network engineers, technicians, and vendors on upgrades and solutions.

• Ensure field activities align with project timelines and organizational standards.

• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations on all sites.

• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements for RF emissions and licensing.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree with 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience.

• Strong understanding of RF principles, radio equipment, and network optimization.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network and equipment issues.

• Experience with RF testing, measurements, and performance analysis.

• Good documentation and reporting skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in field environments.

• Strong attention to safety, compliance, and quality standards.

Salary

N170,000 – N180,000 monthly
