Job Title: Hostel Parent (Female)

Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

The Hostel Parent will provide care, supervision, and guidance to female boarding students. The role ensures their safety, welfare, discipline, and overall development in line with the school’s values.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the welfare, safety, and well-being of all female boarding students
• Supervise daily routines including wake-up, meals, study time, prep, and bedtime
• Foster a nurturing, homely, and disciplined atmosphere
• Monitor students’ hygiene, health, and emotional well-being
• Provide guidance and supervision during study sessions
• Maintain order and enforce hostel rules fairly and consistently
• Communicate regularly with the Principal and parents regarding students’ progress and conduct
• Keep accurate hostel records including attendance, health, and welfare reports
• Oversee housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe hostel environment
• Provide mentorship, counseling, and emotional support when needed
• Respond to emergencies calmly and effectively
• Support school programs and uphold the school’s values within the hostel

Qualifications and Skills

• OND, NCE, HND, or Bachelor’s Degree (Education or related field preferred)
• Experience working with children or teenagers in a hostel, school, or youth environment is an advantage
• Strong sense of responsibility, discipline, and patience
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to enforce rules with fairness and empathy
• Knowledge of basic first aid is desirable
• Must be female with high moral and ethical standards

Salary

N90,000 – N100,000 per month
