Role Overview

We are hiring a Health, Safety, and Environment Officer to support safe work practices in our food manufacturing facility in Sagamu. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and hygiene standards while encouraging a strong safety culture among employees. The ideal candidate should be observant, organized, and committed to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and track health, safety, and environmental policies in line with company guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Carry out regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification within the factory
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations
• Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, then prepare clear reports with corrective actions
• Organize and deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and periodic HSE training sessions
• Maintain accurate HSE records, permits, and statutory documentation
• Work with regulatory bodies during inspections, audits, and compliance checks
• Support continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental performance

Qualifications and Skills

• HND or BSc in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Two to four years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in manufacturing or food processing
• Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, OSHA, or knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 are an advantage
• Good understanding of Nigerian HSE regulations for manufacturing environments
• Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and pay close attention to detail

Salary

N150000 per month
