Job Title: Internal Audit Officer
Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Role Summary
We are hiring a proactive and detail-oriented Internal Audit Officer to help strengthen our internal controls, improve efficiency, and protect company resources across departments including editorial, production, warehousing, and finance. The ideal candidate should have strong auditing skills, deep accounting knowledge, and a commitment to transparency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual risk-based audit plans
• Carry out financial and operational audits across all departments
• Assess internal controls and compliance with established policies
• Audit inventory management and conduct physical stock checks
• Verify royalty calculations and author payments
• Investigate inconsistencies in accounting or stock records
• Identify gaps in procedures and recommend practical improvements
• Conduct fraud investigations and follow through on findings
• Ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations
• Prepare clear and accurate audit reports for management review
• Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory agencies
• Provide advisory support on strengthening internal controls
• Perform ongoing audits and use data analytics for insights

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking & Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CISA, CIA) or currently pursuing one
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in auditing or accounting, preferably in publishing or a related industry
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and audit practices
• Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and finance operations in publishing
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong multitasking and organizational abilities

Skills Required

• Proficiency in Sage Accounting Software (mandatory)
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace skills
• Time management and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics
• Familiarity with data analysis tools is an added advantage
• Adaptable, quick to learn, and collaborative

Salary
Monthly pay between ₦130,000 – ₦160,000
