Role Overview

We are hiring an Internal Auditor on behalf of one of our clients in the engineering sector. This role focuses on reviewing internal processes, identifying risks, and improving operational and financial controls. The successful candidate will work closely with different departments to ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices. The role requires strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and high ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess operational and financial risks and support the development of yearly audit plans
• Carry out internal audits to review internal controls, systems, and work processes
• Examine financial records, reports, and supporting documents to spot gaps and weaknesses
• Check compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Prepare clear audit reports with findings and practical recommendations
• Present audit results to management and relevant department heads
• Follow up on audit recommendations and support corrective actions
• Keep up to date with changes in auditing standards, regulations, and industry practices
• Support special reviews, investigations, and process improvement tasks when required
• Promote accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the organization

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Professional certification such as ACA, CPA, or CIA is an added advantage
• Minimum of 8 years experience in internal audit, preferably in manufacturing or logistics
• At least 3 years experience in the drilling industry
• Good knowledge of internal control systems, risk management, and audit standards
• Ability to use audit and data analysis tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail
• Clear communication skills and confidence when dealing with management
• Ability to work independently and also as part of a team
• High level of integrity and commitment to ethical practices
• Good time management and ability to handle multiple tasks
• Willingness to travel when required

Salary

N800,000 and N1,500,000
