Role Overview

The Internal Control Officer will be responsible for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of internal control systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The role involves conducting audits, assessing risks, and recommending strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce exposure to financial and compliance risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems across departments

• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential control gaps

• Develop and implement control measures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations

• Monitor adherence to company policies, processes, and industry standards

• Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, insights, and recommendations

• Collaborate with management teams to improve compliance and risk management frameworks

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 3–5 years of experience in internal control, audit, or risk management

• In-depth understanding of regulatory compliance and audit methodologies

• Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills

• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CIA is required

• Previous experience in the banking or fintech sector is mandatory

Salary

₦800,000 – ₦1,000,000 monthly, commensurate with experience and qualifications
