Role Overview

The Internal Control Supervisor will be responsible for strengthening the company’s internal control system and ensuring that all operations follow approved processes, regulations, and best practices. This role focuses on risk management, compliance, internal audits, and fraud prevention across operational and financial activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and put in place internal control policies and procedures across all company operations, including depot and jetty activities
• Review internal control systems regularly and improve them to match business and regulatory changes
• Carry out risk assessments to identify weak areas in operations, product handling, storage, and financial activities
• Create and monitor risk control measures to reduce identified risks
• Ensure full compliance with local and international regulations, including financial reporting and industry standards
• Plan and conduct internal audits to check the effectiveness of controls
• Follow up on audit findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Design and manage fraud prevention measures, including staff awareness and training
• Investigate suspected fraud cases and work with relevant teams to resolve issues
• Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and reliable through proper control measures
• Work closely with the finance team to confirm that transactions are properly recorded and reconciled
• Train employees on internal control processes, compliance rules, and risk management practices
• Provide regular reports to senior management on control systems, risks, and compliance status
• Perform other duties assigned by the line manager

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• Seven to ten years of experience in internal control, audit, or risk management
• Strong background in the oil and gas sector, especially downstream operations
• Good knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk assessment, and audit procedures
• Experience supervising internal control or audit teams with measurable improvements achieved
• Ability to use financial systems, audit tools, and Microsoft Office applications effectively
• Strong attention to detail, reporting skills, and professional judgment

Salary

N1,200,000 Monthly salary.
