Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Internal Controller to oversee and improve internal processes within our bakery operations. This role involves conducting audits, ensuring compliance with financial and operational standards, and safeguarding the business against risks. The ideal candidate will be committed to upholding integrity, efficiency, and accountability across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Audits

• Conduct audits covering procurement, production, sales, inventory, payroll, and cash handling
• Assess operational efficiency and recommend cost-saving measures

Financial Controls and Risk Analysis

• Verify financial records and general ledger entries
• Carry out risk assessments and fraud investigations
• Enforce segregation of duties and internal checks

Inventory and Production Audits

• Perform spot-checks on raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
• Match inventory records with production and sales logs
• Monitor bakery yield and ingredient usage

Process and Policy Audits

• Review standard operating procedures across departments
• Identify compliance gaps and propose improvements
• Conduct staff sensitization and training on internal controls

Regulatory and Tax Compliance

• Validate statutory filings and tax obligations
• Ensure compliance with labor laws, food safety standards, and governance codes

Reporting and Process Development

• Deliver timely audit reports with clear recommendations
• Monitor the implementation of audit outcomes
• Develop audit documentation, reporting templates, and risk management frameworks

Requirements

• B.Sc or HND in Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 3 to 5 years of experience in audit or internal control, preferably in FMCG or production
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CIA is an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of audit practices, risk management, and regulatory standards
• Excellent attention to detail, ethics, and confidentiality
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary

N150,000 – N200,000 per month
