Role Overview
The Maintenance Planner and Scheduler I will be responsible for planning and scheduling all maintenance activities. This role requires strong knowledge of safety, health, and environmental practices, maintenance planning, resource coordination, and work execution. The position works closely with operations, maintenance teams, and contractors to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, and within approved scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule routine and non routine maintenance activities
- Ensure safety, health, and environmental standards are followed at all times
- Work with core teams to prepare maintenance schedules, cost estimates, and job plans
- Coordinate materials, tools, equipment, and skilled labor for maintenance tasks
- Develop detailed job packs with timelines, resources, and materials
- Monitor schedules to manage critical paths, resource conflicts, and scope changes
- Support turnaround planning and execution activities
- Resolve scheduling challenges such as delays, resource overloads, and work sequence issues
- Provide input into procurement, contracting, and material management plans
- Track field changes and update schedules accordingly
- Guide execution teams using look ahead schedules to support timely job completion
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, with relevant professional certification or equivalent experience
- Strong experience in maintenance planning and scheduling within oil and gas or industrial environments
- Good understanding of maintenance planning tools and scheduling software
- Ability to work under pressure, manage changing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present plans clearly to teams and management
- Good leadership skills to support teamwork, remove obstacles, and follow up on action items
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
