Role Overview
The Mathematics Tutor will help students understand key math concepts, develop better problem-solving skills, and gain confidence in the subject. The role involves teaching, assessment, and providing academic support that aligns with the school curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach students in one-on-one or small group sessions.
- Support classroom learning by explaining topics taught in school.
- Prepare lesson notes, worksheets, and practice exercises.
- Guide students to think critically and apply math to real-life situations.
- Assess student performance and adjust teaching methods when needed.
- Provide exam preparation support and build student confidence.
- Share feedback with students and parents on progress.
- Work with classroom teachers to align tutoring with school goals.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, lesson plans, and performance.
- Encourage students to develop strong study habits and independent learning skills.
Qualifications and Skills
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree with 2 to 4 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of algebra, geometry, statistics, and arithmetic.
- Good communication skills and the ability to explain difficult topics in simple terms.
- Patience, empathy, and understanding of different learning speeds.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods for different learners.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to use digital tools and online platforms to support learning.
Salary
N100,000 – N150,000 per month.
