Medical / Dental Officer at Nigerian Air Force (NAF)

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), the air branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces, plays a vital role in national defense and security. With over 15,000 personnel and advanced aircraft including Chengdu F-7s, Alpha Jets, helicopter gunships, drones, and military transport planes, the NAF is one of the strongest air forces in Africa.

Job Title: Medical / Dental Officer

Location: Nigeria

Qualification

Applicants must hold MBBS, MBChB, or BDS from an NUC-accredited university and must have a valid and current practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

General Instructions

• Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth
• Age requirement is 20 to 32 years, while medical consultants can apply up to 40 years
• Serving personnel must have at least 10 years of service, attained the rank of Corporal, and be recommended by their Commanding Officer
• Male applicants must be at least 1.66m tall and female applicants at least 1.63m tall
• All candidates must be physically, medically, and psychologically fit according to Nigerian Air Force standards

Local Government Area Attestation Form

The attestation form must be signed by one of the following:

• A military officer from the applicant’s state of origin not below Wing Commander or equivalent
• An officer of the rank of Assistant Commissioner or above
• A substantive Local Government Chairman or Secretary
• A Magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin

The form must include a passport photograph of the signee and a copy of their Driver’s Licence, National ID, or International Passport.

Presentation of Original Credentials

At the selection interview, applicants must present original copies and photocopies of the following:

• Two recent passport photographs stamped and countersigned by the required officer
• Birth certificate or Declaration of Age
• Educational and professional certificates
• Indigeneship certificate from Local Government or State of origin
• Attestation to Good Character signed by an approved officer

Applicants with false documents or impersonation will be disqualified and may face prosecution.

Academic and Professional Requirements

• Second Class Upper Division for first degree holders, Upper Credit for HND holders
• MSc/MA and computer literacy are added advantages
• Membership of relevant professional bodies is an advantage
• Five O’Level credits including English Language, Mathematics, and three relevant subjects
• NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter is required
• Medical professionals must have registration certificates with their professional bodies
