Job Title: Oncology Officer
Location: Benin, Edo State
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Centre Manager or Head of Operations

Role Overview

We are looking for a qualified Medical Officer with experience in Oncology to support clinical cancer care services. This role focuses on patient safety, quality assurance, clinical protocols, and teamwork across departments. The Oncology Officer will work closely with Clinical Oncologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver evidence-based care and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Contour target areas and organs for radiotherapy treatment
• Ensure proper CT simulation for accurate treatment planning
• Carry out follow-up consultations for patients receiving radiotherapy
• Support Clinical Oncologists during patient treatments and procedures
• Review diagnostic results and assist in treatment planning
• Educate patients on treatment options, possible side effects, lifestyle changes, and nutrition
• Take part in tumour board discussions, clinical audits, and team meetings
• Support infection control practices and quality improvement activities
• Assist with protocol development, training programs, research, and learning sessions
• Work with operations and support teams to improve patient care and experience

Qualifications and Skills

• Medical degree such as MD or DO from a recognized institution
• 3 to 5 years of practical experience in Oncology
• Good knowledge of oncology care standards and clinical protocols
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient management skills
