Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Inspector

Location: Offshore, Port Harcourt – Rivers State

Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

The Quality Control (QC) Inspector will be responsible for managing all quality control and inspection activities at the site (EGINA FPSO). This includes overseeing notifications, projects, and site modification requests to ensure compliance with approved standards and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with ECP Site Management and Onshore Teams to carry out quality control and inspection tasks for welding, blasting, and painting activities.
  • Confirm that only approved consumables are used on site in line with approved WPS/procedures for welding, blasting, and painting.
  • Verify that only qualified artisans (welders, blasters, and painters) are deployed for tasks and maintain updated records of their qualifications.
  • Monitor work for compliance with specified quality requirements and ensure inspections and controls are documented according to quality procedures.
  • Supervise coating and welding parameters, consumables, and ensure correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan.
  • Check availability and suitability of filler materials, preheating, welding, heat treatment, and bevels.
  • Review and track the extent of repairs by various welders, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Conduct visual inspections, verify dimensions, and oversee defect removal using Magnetic Permeability Inspection (MPI).
  • Ensure proper storage of consumables (welding and painting) and maintain material traceability.
  • Collate all welding and coating technical queries and report them to the Onshore QAQC Engineer for response.
  • Monitor the equipment calibration register to ensure only valid equipment is in use.
  • Inspect all incoming materials at the site for conformity.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.
  • Participate in project meetings and present inspection work status when required.
  • Prepare and issue close-out reports for welding and coating works, including weld history sheets and coating reports to reflect the “As Built” status.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the petroleum industry.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1 (Level 2) Welding Inspector; NACE II or BGAS CSWIP Painting Inspector Grade II.
  • Strong knowledge of International Standards, Codes, and Total General Specifications.
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages.
