Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State

Employment Type: Full-time

Reporting To: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager

Work Environment: Office-based with regular site visits

Job Summary

The Quantity Surveyor will play an important role in supporting cost and budget management for construction projects. The role includes assisting in the preparation of estimates, tenders, valuations, and cost reports, while gaining valuable hands-on experience in cost control and project management within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
• Support the measurement and valuation of works in progress both on-site and from drawings
• Prepare interim payment applications and assist in preparing final accounts
• Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and gather accurate measurements
• Assist with cost analysis, forecasting, and preparing financial reports
• Contribute to contract administration including reviewing variations and claims
• Maintain detailed records of materials, labor, and subcontractor costs
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and clients under senior supervision
• Ensure compliance with company standards, health and safety policies, and industry best practices
• Provide support in negotiations with project stakeholders

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum grade of Second Class Upper (2.1) or higher
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of AutoCAD or CostX is an added advantage
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
• Willingness to learn and grow in the role
• Basic knowledge of construction methods and materials

Salary

N100,000 – N150,000 per month
