Role Overview

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to support our construction projects from planning to completion. The role involves cost estimation, budget control, procurement support, and close collaboration with project teams to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Pre Contract and Tendering

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Support tender preparation, bid analysis, and subcontractor selection
  • Provide cost advice and practical value improvement ideas during design stages

Cost Control and Commercial Management

  • Track project costs and compare them with approved budgets
  • Prepare cost plans, cash flow forecasts, and cost reports
  • Identify cost risks and opportunities and report them early
  • Apply cost control processes throughout the project lifecycle

Procurement and Subcontract Management

  • Prepare subcontract and supplier documentation
  • Negotiate rates, terms, and agreements with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, including valuations and payments
  • Ensure subcontractors meet contract and project requirements

Valuations, Variations, and Payments

  • Prepare interim valuations and payment applications
  • Review and approve subcontractor progress claims
  • Measure and agree variations and change orders
  • Keep clear records of variations, claims, and site instructions

Collaboration and Site Support

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams
  • Attend site and commercial meetings when required
  • Provide guidance to junior staff when necessary
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Two to four years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction projects
  • Good understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost control
  • Experience handling projects from pre contract stage to final account
  • Knowledge of standard construction contracts
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Clear communication and stakeholder management ability
  • Ability to use cost and project software such as CostX, Cubit, Excel, or similar tools
  • Experience working with main contractors and subcontractors
Salary

Monthly pay range is N200,000 to N350,000
