Role Overview
We are looking for a Risk Officer to support the design and execution of risk management strategies across the organization. This role focuses on identifying and minimizing operational and compliance risks while ensuring strong internal controls and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessment and Monitoring

• Work with internal teams to identify and evaluate risk areas across operations
• Maintain and regularly update the organizational risk register
• Monitor the implementation of risk mitigation plans and validate outcomes
• Recommend process improvements to strengthen control effectiveness
• Support investigations related to fraud, inefficiencies, or irregularities and provide actionable feedback

Compliance and Internal Controls

• Contribute to the design and rollout of internal control systems
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and risk frameworks
• Conduct periodic internal audits and reviews
• Detect emerging risks and suggest preventive measures

Key Performance Metrics

• Timely and accurate risk register updates
• Effectiveness of implemented control measures
• Volume and impact of process improvement initiatives
• Compliance level with internal and regulatory standards

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Accounting, or a related field

Professional Certifications (Preferred)

• Membership in ICAN, ACCA, or any relevant professional body is an added advantage

Experience Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in risk, compliance, or administrative roles within a similar industry

Knowledge and Competencies

• Strong understanding of compliance laws and risk management principles
• Familiarity with accounting fundamentals
• Awareness of QSR and food industry operations
• Ability to follow reporting procedures and maintain accurate records
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Work Environment

• Typically Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
• Some travel may be required between company locations
• Occasional evening or weekend work depending on business needs
