Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will oversee the company’s financial operations, ensure accurate accounting records, maintain compliance with financial regulations, and provide detailed financial reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, highly trustworthy, and experienced in managing full-cycle accounting within a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

• Maintain accurate financial records and general ledgers
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations
• Track revenue, expenses, budgets, and cash flow

Regulatory and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with PAYE, VAT, WHT, Pension, ITF, and NSITF remittances
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory agencies
• Maintain accurate documentation for audits and statutory reporting

Financial Control

• Implement and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud
• Verify and approve expenses based on company policies
• Monitor asset registers, depreciation schedules, and inventory records

Reporting and Analysis

• Prepare cash flow forecasts, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and variance analysis
• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations
• Support budgeting and long-term financial planning

Team Support and Coordination

• Supervise junior finance staff and review financial entries for accuracy
• Support procurement and operations with financial insights
• Ensure timely submission of financial data across departments

Qualifications and Requirements

• BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage)
• 5 – 6 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong expertise in financial reporting and analysis
• Deep knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Zoho Books
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organisational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

Salary

N500,000 – N600,000 monthly
