Role Overview
We are hiring a Senior Accountant to manage daily financial activities and ensure proper financial records and compliance. This role requires someone who is practical, detail focused, and confident in handling core accounting tasks. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial reporting, and statutory compliance, with several years of hands on accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain accurate and updated financial records in line with accounting standards
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoices and staff reimbursements
• Carry out bank reconciliations and resolve differences on time
• Track inventory, costing, and fixed assets, especially within construction operations
• Prepare and submit statutory returns such as VAT, WHT, PAYE, and Pension in line with Nigerian regulations
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documents and explanations
• Put proper internal controls in place to protect company assets
• Perform other finance related tasks assigned by management
Qualifications and Skills
• BSc or HND in Accounting from a recognized institution
• Five to seven years of practical accounting experience
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and statutory deductions
• Good working knowledge of accounting software such as Sage or QuickBooks
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, dashboards, and basic financial models
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Must live on Lagos Island or nearby areas
• Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA, or currently in view, is an added advantage
Salary
N500,000 to N600,000 monthly
