Job Summary
The Solar Power Inverter System Engineer will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar power installations across our residential and commercial properties. The role requires hands-on expertise with solar inverters and a proven track record in ensuring optimal system performance.
This position plays a key role in guaranteeing reliable energy output, executing preventive maintenance schedules, and resolving technical issues to maximize efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations and maintenance of solar systems including PV panels, inverters, batteries, and monitoring equipment across multiple sites
- Plan and implement a monthly Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedule to ensure system reliability and efficiency
- Conduct inspections, clean panels, check inverters, verify electrical connections, and maintain cooling systems for inverters
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair inverter faults and other system issues
- Track system performance, generate technical reports, and recommend improvements
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships for warranty claims, major repairs, and specialized services
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and local codes
- Keep accurate records of faults, repairs, and maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in solar PV system operations and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of different solar inverter systems such as string and central inverters
- Excellent understanding of electrical principles, circuit design, and single-line diagrams
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SCADA or other solar monitoring platforms
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
- Effective communication skills for reporting and stakeholder management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and sites independently
