Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable and professional Standard Driver to operate company vehicles, ensure safe and timely transportation of personnel, and maintain high standards of safety, discretion, and vehicle care. The role requires strong knowledge of Lagos routes, punctuality, and adherence to company driving policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate assigned company vehicle(s) for fixed routes or designated personnel, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs

  • Follow daily driving schedules and promptly report delays or operational issues to the Operations Officer

  • Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including tyres, oil, brakes, lights, and fuel

  • Report vehicle faults, defects, or maintenance needs immediately

  • Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained at all times, both interior and exterior

  • Secure and properly use fuel cards and vehicle documentation

  • Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and fuel reports, submitting documentation as required

  • Assist with safe loading and unloading of light items when necessary

  • Adhere strictly to traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety procedures

  • Provide courteous, professional service to passengers and maintain discretion with sensitive items or information

  • Be available for occasional overtime or split shifts based on operational needs

Qualifications and Skills
  • Minimum of SSCE/WAEC or equivalent

  • At least 2 years of professional driving experience; corporate or standard driver experience is an advantage

  • Valid Nigerian driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle category

  • Clean driving record with no major traffic violations

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for completing logs and following instructions

Required Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of local roads, traffic patterns, and alternative routes

  • Excellent time management, punctuality, and reliability

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle minor operational challenges

  • Basic mechanical awareness to identify and report vehicle issues

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism

Salary and Benefits
  • Competitive salary of N120,000 – N150,000 per month, based on experience

  • Overtime pay and statutory benefits in line with company policy
