Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Veterinary Doctor to join our team. The role involves diagnosing and treating animal illnesses and injuries through medical and surgical procedures. You will perform surgeries, manage anesthesia, prescribe medications, run diagnostic tests, and provide comprehensive pre and post-operative care.
Core Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat various animal illnesses and injuries
- Perform surgical procedures including orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries
- Manage anesthesia during medical and surgical operations
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as X-rays, ultrasounds, and bloodwork
- Prescribe appropriate medications for different conditions
- Oversee pre-surgery assessments and post-surgery recovery care
- Provide preventative treatments such as vaccinations and deworming
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment histories
- Communicate effectively with pet owners on animal health and welfare
Additional Duties
- Handle emergency cases and on-call responsibilities
- Perform euthanasia when required for aged or terminally ill animals
- Stay updated on new veterinary techniques and practices through training and workshops
- Collaborate with other veterinary professionals on complex cases
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Veterinary Medicine or related field
- 4 to 5 years proven work experience as a Veterinary Doctor

Salary
₦150,000 – ₦160,000 monthly
