Position Overview

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Team Manager – Merchant Lending

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive merchant acquisition initiatives in priority sectors such as transportation, travel agencies, luxury bus operators, logistics, courier services and ride-sharing platforms including Bolt and Uber.
  • Build strong relationships with top merchants and key decision-makers in targeted industries.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Key Account Managers responsible for onboarding and managing large merchants.
  • Use an extensive network to identify opportunities, understand merchant needs and promote the organisation’s solutions.
  • Participate actively in industry events to strengthen relationships and stay informed about sector trends and challenges.
  • Collaborate with major associations in the targeted verticals to support merchant acquisition and enhance industry partnerships.
  • Maintain relationships with key accounts, ensuring satisfaction and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Resolve merchant complaints in a timely manner to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Expand networks within assigned verticals to identify new acquisition opportunities.
  • Develop deep product knowledge to effectively communicate value propositions to merchants and guide your team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing or a related field.
  • 8–10 years’ experience in Merchant Business within fintech or a commercial bank, focusing on large merchants.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven success in key account management, preferably in the fintech sector.
  • Experience managing high-performing sales teams.
  • Flexible, results-oriented and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Previous customer service experience is an added advantage.
