Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will build, manage, and improve WordPress websites, ensuring they are fast, secure, and optimized. You will work with our content and technical teams to deliver high-quality digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins.
• Build and maintain responsive and user-friendly WordPress websites.
• Troubleshoot and fix technical issues related to WordPress and cPanel hosting.
• Manage backups, SSL setup, DNS settings, and server performance.
• Ensure all website pages remain indexed on Google and resolve indexing issues.
• Manage third-party integrations including plugins and APIs.
• Create, update, and maintain XML and HTML sitemaps to support SEO.
• Handle tech admin tasks such as setting up author profiles.
• Work with internal teams and external consultants to implement new features.
• Optimize websites for performance, speed, and SEO.
• Ensure website security, updates, and responsiveness across devices and browsers.
• Participate in testing and quality checks before site or page launches.
• Stay informed about new WordPress tools, trends, and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

• 2 to 3 years of experience as a WordPress Developer.
• Strong skills in WordPress themes, plugins, and custom post types.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, PHP, WordPress CMS, and JQuery.
• Ability to apply on-page and technical SEO best practices.
• Good UX/UI understanding and the ability to design engaging layouts.
• Knowledge of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience with API integrations and page builders such as Elementor, Beaver Builder, or WPBakery.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and time-management skills.
• High attention to detail.

Desirable

• Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation.
• Ability to create visually appealing and user-friendly designs.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of email marketing and social media strategy.
• Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of WooCommerce.

Salary

N120,000 to N150,000 per month, plus a discretionary annual bonus.
