Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Optometrist to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this role, you will examine patients’ eyes, diagnose vision issues, and offer tailored treatments. Your responsibilities will include prescribing corrective lenses, offering vision therapy, and managing low-vision rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed eye examinations for both children and adults
- Diagnose conditions such as glaucoma, myopia, astigmatism, and other visual impairments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical aids
- Provide both preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Attend to emergency and walk-in patients
- Educate patients on eye care, lens maintenance, and visual safety practices
- Refer patients to ophthalmologists when necessary
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
- 2–4 years of relevant experience, preferably in the healthcare sector
- Membership with a recognized professional body such as the Nigerian Optometric Association (NOA) or Optometry and Dispensing Optician Board of Nigeria (ODOBN)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
