Role Overview

Bincike International is seeking two dedicated Accountability for Affected Populations (AAP) Officers to join our teams in Maiduguri and Mubi. The selected candidates will ensure that all our programs are designed and executed with full accountability to the communities we serve. This position plays a key role in strengthening community trust, improving program quality, and ensuring that the voices and feedback of affected populations are actively integrated into our decision-making and implementation processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish Feedback Mechanisms: Design, implement, and manage effective, accessible, and confidential feedback and complaint systems (including hotlines, suggestion boxes, and community forums).

• Data Management and Analysis: Collect, analyze, and report on feedback received through multiple channels. Identify patterns and use findings to guide continuous program improvement.

• Community Engagement: Conduct regular engagement with community members, leaders, and project participants to ensure their views and concerns inform project planning and delivery.

• Training and Capacity Building: Train staff on accountability principles, community engagement, and handling feedback to embed a culture of transparency and responsibility across the organization.

• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare clear and detailed reports summarizing accountability activities, feedback trends, response actions, and their impact on program effectiveness.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accountability, community engagement, or monitoring and evaluation preferably within a humanitarian or development organization.

• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) principles, feedback systems, and data management processes.

• Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to engage diverse communities with sensitivity. Fluency in English and a local language such as Hausa or Kanuri is required.
