Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team. This role will involve supporting the CFO in daily financial operations, ensuring compliance with tax and statutory obligations, and contributing to financial planning and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the CFO in managing financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Ensure compliance with monthly tax remittances, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other taxes for FIRS and LIRS.
- Oversee the staff pension remittance and other statutory deductions.
- Provide support for tax audits, including documentation and preparation before, during, and after the audit process.
- Collaborate with various departments to collect financial data and assist in decision-making processes.
- Monitor financial transactions to ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal controls.
- Help prepare the annual budget and analyze financial variances.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CFO to improve company performance.
- Stay updated on accounting regulations to ensure compliance in all financial activities.
- Assist in the filing and management of all statutory compliance certificates for business operations.
- Support the preparation of financial and management reports.
- Assist with financing applications and documentation.
- Participate in the statutory audit process.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CFO.
Personal Qualities & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role at a reputable organization.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams and presenting financial information.
- Experience with financial reporting, auditing, and tax compliance.
- High level of confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.
- Proactive and goal-oriented with a strong sense of urgency.
- Male candidates preferred.
- Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and accounting software, especially Zoho Books.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Salary
N250,000 Monthly
