Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing tender documents, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. With at least 6 years of experience in quantity surveying, the ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, and be capable of working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Management: Oversee and manage project costs, prepare budgets, track expenses, and ensure that projects remain within budget.
- Tender Documentation: Prepare comprehensive tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and contract conditions.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with project teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all projects adhere to established quality standards and procedures.
- Contract Administration: Manage contracts, including preparing contract documents, managing variations, and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Risk Management: Identify project risks and implement risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication abilities for liaising with stakeholders and preparing detailed reports.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in quantity surveying software such as Autodesk Quantity Takeoff and Microsoft Excel.
- Professional Membership: Membership in a recognized professional body, such as the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (MNIQS).
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree: Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Construction Experience: Experience in the construction industry, including building services and infrastructure projects.
- Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Cost Engineer (CCE) or Certified Quantity Surveyor (CQS).
