Job Summary

We are looking for a goal-driven Assistant Branch Retail Manager to oversee daily operations at our retail outlet in Victoria Island. This role requires someone who can manage sales, drive profitability, lead store operations, engage customers, and support a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Profitability Management

  • Lead the store sales team to achieve set sales targets (units and value)
  • Monitor and improve the store’s sales strategy and performance
  • Analyze slow-moving items and implement strategies to increase their sales
  • Support promotional activities and manage price tagging updates
  • Present regular sales reports, budgets, and profitability updates

Store Operations and Compliance

  • Train and support staff on sales Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ensure smooth daily store operations and adherence to policies
  • Manage store opening and closing routines effectively

Team Leadership

  • Monitor and evaluate staff productivity and conduct regular appraisals
  • Promote team collaboration to meet sales and operational targets
  • Handle team scheduling, conflict resolution, and staff allocation

Customer Experience

  • Ensure excellent customer service and a welcoming store environment
  • Support upselling, cross-selling, and personalized customer interactions
  • Follow up on special requests, exchanges, and other transactions

Inventory Management

  • Supervise accurate merchandise receiving and inventory tracking
  • Ensure items are properly tagged and displayed as per visual standards
  • Monitor product availability across store sections

Store Appearance and Visual Merchandising

  • Coordinate with the visual team to maintain store aesthetics
  • Monitor cleanliness, lighting, scent, and music ambiance
  • Ensure display guidelines are followed across seasons

Marketing and Promotions

  • Track footfall and share data with the marketing team
  • Communicate promotional campaigns clearly to customers
  • Manage promotional materials and in-store campaigns

Health, Safety, and Asset Management

  • Maintain and account for store assets and consumables
  • Identify and address any maintenance or safety concerns

Till and Cash Management

  • Ensure accuracy in scanning, billing, and transactions
  • Manage customer registrations and loyalty program details
  • Oversee secure cash handling and bank deposits

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and share daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports
  • Track non-monetary activities, inventory movements, and team performance
Qualifications and Experience
  • Senior Secondary School Certificate required
  • Retail Management Certification is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in retail management within a structured business setting
Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of retail operations and customer service
  • Proficient in using retail software and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to handle customer complaints and reactivation
  • Cold calling and upselling expertise
  • Experience in team training and performance management
