Position: Data Centre Power Systems Technician
Location: Lagos

Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled technician to oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power systems at our data centres and Point of Presence (POP) facilities. This role is essential to maintaining uninterrupted power and ensuring smooth operations within our critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance independently or with vendors
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems including UPS, generators, inverters, switchgear, rectifiers, transformers, ATS, AVR, PDU/PMM units, and battery systems
  • Monitor systems for abnormal performance and respond promptly
  • Maintain accurate records of operations and issues for audits and service-level compliance
  • Ensure all changes and incidents are logged and tracked properly in line with ITIL practices
  • Analyze system trends to preempt potential failures

Qualifications and Experience

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical & Electronics or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in data centre or facility operations
  • Proven experience with electrical power systems maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) systems
  • Experience in planning and executing maintenance schedules
  • Knowledge of DCIM tools is an added advantage
  • Industry certifications in electrical installations and repairs are preferred
  • Hands-on experience with installations, mechanical repairs, safety protocols, and compliance
  • Comfortable working in cold environments (below 20°C) for extended periods
  • Physically fit to lift and move equipment up to 20kg
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and operating systems
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and third-party vendors
