Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: Lagos

Reports To: Service Team Lead

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Field Service Engineer at ABB, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality service solutions that meet our customers’ needs while ensuring adherence to ABB’s safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute service tasks of low to medium complexity, following ABB’s processes, safety, and quality guidelines.
  • Provide technical support and expertise in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges, both remotely and on-site.
  • Collaborate with customers and ABB teams to understand service needs and identify business opportunities.
  • Participate in maintenance meetings, provide suggestions for product and quality improvements, and share insights with management.
  • Prepare and submit technical documents and reports for project contracts, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate and supervise internal and external technicians, assigning tasks based on service requirements.
  • Oversee project teams and contractors at work sites, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance with ABB standards.
  • Investigate customer needs, provide technical consultation, and recommend service solutions to management and clients.
  • Identify and develop effective service applications and market opportunities to optimize cost-effective solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, proactively identifying sales opportunities and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Support the sales team with technical expertise and advisory services.
  • Ensure clear and accurate communication of technical information to customers, addressing their concerns effectively.
  • Manage specialist service projects, including cost supervision, project planning, and milestone tracking.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience (experience in a multinational organization is an advantage)
  • Ability to lead discussions and communicate effectively with employees and management
