Job Summary
The Head of Acquisition, Priority Banking is responsible for driving profitable growth through new business acquisition. This role focuses on engaging both new and existing high-value customers, identifying their needs, and offering tailored banking solutions.
Job Purpose
The key responsibility of this role is to onboard New-To-Bank (NTB) Priority and Premium Clients by:
- Acquiring NTB and New-To-Segment (NTS) clients with multiple banking needs (Wealth Management, Overdraft, Mortgage, etc.).
- Engaging clients through various lead sources, including agencies, alliances, and partners.
- Ensuring all applications meet the bank’s required standards before submission.
- Identifying and resolving any errors or anomalies in customer applications.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy:
- Deliver excellent customer service to enhance client experience.
- Offer a range of financial products to meet customers’ banking needs.
Business Development:
- Meet client requirements while ensuring compliance with banking regulations.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders to drive business growth.
Risk & Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to anti-money laundering regulations by verifying customer identity and maintaining proper documentation.
- Follow the Know Your Customer (KYC) policy to prevent financial crime.
- Maintain a clean desk policy and safeguard client information.
Operational Oversight:
- Monitor branch registers to ensure compliance with bank policies.
- Minimize operational risks and ensure smooth banking operations.
- Supervise cash vault limits and oversee exceptional transaction investigations.
- Generate reports and analysis for management insights.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Stay updated on policies related to money laundering, operational risk, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Read, understand, and follow the Group Code of Conduct.
- Report any suspicious transactions immediately to the appropriate authority.
Governance
- Maintain effective governance, oversight, and risk control measures.
- Understand and comply with regulatory expectations within the banking industry.
- Work collaboratively with local regulators, including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Key Stakeholders
Internal:
- Relationship Managers and Branch Managers.
- Credit and Wealth Management teams.
- Group Internal Audit and Business Unit Leaders.
- Corporate & Institutional Banking Team (CIB).
External:
- Clients and regulatory authorities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: 18-20 years in sales or business development within the banking sector.

- Regulatory knowledge in financial services
- Strong understanding of KYC and customer engagement
