Contract Type: Permanent

Position Overview
We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Head of Operations to lead our operations team. This role reports directly to the Surfer Fleet Manager and plays a key part in overseeing the daily functions of the Surfer fleet, training center, and referent pilots.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and support commercial vessel contracts
  • Coordinate operational activities in line with budget performance and KPIs
  • Supervise Operations Managers, Senior Referent Pilots, and Referent Pilots
  • Ensure cost-effective vessel operations and client satisfaction
  • Contribute to QMS/SMS development and compliance
  • Collaborate with Quality, HSE, Procurement, Technical, and Crew departments
  • Support vessel maintenance, dry docking schedules, and backup fleet operations
  • Promote HSE culture and support incident investigations
  • Provide guidance and reports during Fleet Manager’s absence

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s Degree in Marine Transport, Maritime Management, or related field
  • MBA or Lead Auditor training (ISM/ISO 9002) is a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of maritime experience, preferably onboard seagoing vessels
  • At least 5 years in a Vessel Manager role or over 10 years in Operations/Fleet Management
  • Strong leadership skills with team management experience
  • Solid understanding of Fleet Management IT systems
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of KPI tracking, quality control, safety management, ISM/ISO compliance
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure
