Job Title: Inventory Assistant – Join Our Growing Team at FoodCourt

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and update inventory levels for all kitchen ingredients, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock quantities and expiration dates.
  • Apply first-in, first-out (FIFO) procedures to minimize food wastage.
  • Order supplies to ensure stock levels remain adequate.

Receiving and Inspection

  • Receive deliveries from suppliers, ensuring they match the purchase orders.
  • Inspect goods for quality and accuracy.
  • Verify invoices and packing slips, addressing any discrepancies.

Storage and Organization

  • Properly store food items and supplies to ensure quality and safety.
  • Keep storage areas organized, clean, and pest-free.
  • Implement storage rotation methods to reduce waste.

Communication and Coordination

  • Work with kitchen staff to ensure they have the necessary ingredients and supplies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve supply issues.
  • Regularly update management on inventory status and supply needs.

Quality Control

  • Perform quality checks on stored items to meet food safety standards.
  • Remove items that fail to meet quality criteria promptly.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow health and safety regulations in food handling and storage.
  • Maintain records of safety and sanitation procedures, ensuring compliance with all guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or training may be required for some positions).
  • Proven experience in inventory management or a similar role, preferably in the food industry.
  • Knowledge of food safety and storage regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Competence in using inventory management software and basic computer skills.
  • Physically fit for lifting and moving heavy items.
