The Nigerian Army, the largest branch of the Nigerian Armed Forces, is currently accepting applications for the 89 Regular Recruit Intake (RRI). This opportunity is open to both trades and non-tradesmen/women across Nigeria who meet the necessary requirements.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Applicants must be single and Nigerian citizens by birth.
  • Must possess a National Identity Card or NIN and BVN printout.
  • Must be medically, physically, and mentally fit according to Nigerian Army standards.
  • Must not have any criminal record.
  • A valid birth certificate from the National Population Commission, hospital, or local government is required.
  • A valid certificate of state of origin is mandatory.
  • Minimum height of 1.68m for males and 1.65m for females.
  • Age:
    • 18–22 years for non-trades applicants.
    • Up to 26 years for trades applicants (as of 30 June 2025).
  • Educational Qualifications:
    • At least 4 passes including English Language in not more than 2 sittings (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS).
    • Tradesmen/women must also have a Trade Test or City and Guild Certificate.
Important Instructions
  • There will be no Pre-Selection Computer-Based Test.
  • No special recruitment centres; all screening takes place in candidates’ state of origin.
  • Do not bring electronic or recording devices to the screening venue.
  • Original copies of educational certificates (from primary to secondary) are required.
  • No tattoos or body inscriptions allowed.
  • Cult, society, or fraternity membership is strictly prohibited.
  • Falsification of documents will lead to disqualification and prosecution, even during training.
  • Do not pay anyone or offer any form of inducement for recruitment assistance.
  • Come with your NIN slip and BVN printout.

Screening and Shortlisting
  • Names of shortlisted candidates will be published on the official Nigerian Army website.
  • Successful applicants will report to their state of origin for the screening exercise between 2nd and 16th June 2025.
