Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Manager to lead the implementation and management of our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and practices within our terminal operations. This is a great opportunity for an experienced professional to make a significant impact by ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
- Investigate workplace incidents, determine causes, and recommend preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Identify, implement, and audit all relevant HSSE legislation and standards to ensure compliance.
- Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, striving for continuous improvement in safety practices.
- Lead incident investigations, providing thorough analysis and reports to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with department heads to deliver effective HSE training and awareness programs.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, ensuring full compliance with relevant laws and standards.
- Organize safety meetings and workshops to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Develop and audit the HSE Management Plan, aligning it with regional operational strategies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure critical safety equipment is maintained and available, in line with legal requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, recommending necessary control measures.
Who We Are Looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- NEBOSH IGC or ISPON certification.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in HSE management, preferably within the terminal (waterfront) industry.
- Proven leadership skills, with a strong ability to foster teamwork and achieve safety objectives.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
- Strong expertise in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Extensive understanding of container terminal operational activities.
- Effective negotiation, conflict resolution, and influencing skills.
