We Are Hiring: Senior Network Engineer (Aruba Wireless)
Location: Nigeria
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team. This role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining network solutions to meet the evolving needs of our organization, particularly with a focus on Aruba Wireless technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Network Designs & Implementation
- Design, configure, and deploy secure network solutions using Cisco equipment to meet the company’s requirements.
- Oversee the installation and integration of network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Aruba Wireless Services Management
- Design, deploy, and manage Aruba Wireless solutions for large-scale enterprise networks, supporting up to 3,000 users.
- Develop and maintain security and performance policies for wired, wireless, and VPN environments.
- Implement Aruba ClearPass services, integrating with systems such as Active Directory, Cisco infrastructure, ticketing solutions (e.g., 4me, ServiceNow), and more.
- Maintain a broad understanding of Mobility Conductor services and generate detailed dashboards and reports using ClearPass.
Network Monitoring & Traffic Analytics
- Monitor network performance and security using tools like SolarWinds, Riverbed, and PRTG.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement timely resolutions.
- Respond to network incidents and security breaches, minimizing operational disruptions.
Security & Compliance
- Enforce network security policies in compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and remediation activities to address risks.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure a secure and compliant network environment.
Documentation & Reporting
- Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and change management logs.
- Provide regular reports to leadership on network performance, security status, and ongoing projects.
Continuous Improvements & Research
- Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and security trends.
- Propose and implement improvements to network infrastructure to enhance security, performance, and scalability.
- Participate in capacity planning and disaster recovery initiatives to ensure network resilience.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of a 4-year degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Electrical/Electronics/Communications Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on network security and architecture, including a minimum of 5 years in IT infrastructure service delivery for data networks in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Extensive hands-on experience with HPE and Cisco wireless solutions, including design, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Cisco routing and switching technologies, including experience with Nexus switches and a solid understanding of network protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, TCP/IP).
- Familiarity with VPNs, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint security technologies.
- Relevant certifications such as HPE ACACA/ACACP/ACACX or industry equivalent are highly desirable.
- Cisco networking certification is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A good understanding of HSSE in IT operations within the oil and gas sector.
Additional Advantages
- Experience with cloud networking solutions (e.g., Azure) and SD-WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with other network security platforms such as Fortinet, CheckPoint, etc.
