Role Overview

Bincike International seeks a qualified Project Finance Coordinator to oversee financial management across multiple humanitarian and development projects. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant with strong experience in project finance, particularly within nonprofit and donor-funded organizations. This role ensures sound financial operations, donor compliance, and transparency—especially in projects funded by UN agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management and Reporting: Oversee all project financial transactions, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking. Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial reports to management and donors.

  • UN Financial Systems: Manage and reconcile project funds using UN-specific financial platforms and templates. Deep understanding of UN financial processes is essential.

  • Compliance and Auditing: Ensure all financial operations align with Bincike International’s policies and donor regulations. Serve as the focal point for internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.

  • Team Leadership and Capacity Building: Supervise, train, and mentor junior finance staff, promoting strong financial management and accountability.

  • Travel and Coordination: Conduct frequent visits to Borno State to monitor financial activities, support field teams, and ensure financial alignment with project implementation plans.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Certification: Chartered Accountant and active member of a recognized professional accounting body.

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in project financial management, preferably in the humanitarian or development sector. Demonstrated experience with UN financial systems is mandatory.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, donor compliance, and audit procedures.

  • Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
