We are currently recruiting for the position of Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Port Harcourt.
Position: Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to oversee the design, analysis, and implementation of structural systems for various projects. This includes commercial buildings, industrial facilities, bridges, and infrastructure developments. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of structural systems for buildings, foundations, and civil structures.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineers to develop and deliver effective solutions.
- Conduct structural inspections, site visits, and monitor construction activities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and proposal development.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring on-time and cost-effective delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering design and project management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is advantageous.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- In-depth knowledge of local and international building codes (e.g., Eurocodes, ACI, BS).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
