Where You Fit In
This role will support various key projects, including deep-water brownfield and flagship initiatives, as well as non-operated ventures and opportunity maturation (OMLs 118, 133 & OML 135). The Senior Subsea Hardware & Systems Engineer is a pivotal role in the Subsea Engineering Discipline Organization.
Role Responsibilities
As the Senior Subsea Hardware & Systems Engineer, you will oversee subsea hardware design, fabrication, and installation processes, ensuring compliance with required quality standards. You will collaborate with multi-discipline teams to deliver subsea systems that meet Process Safety, HSSE, and Quality standards.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading and providing expertise in subsea engineering for Bonga FPSO subsea infrastructure and BNW Tie-Back projects.
- Driving value by understanding customer requirements and aligning solutions with their needs.
- Collaborating with peers across different engineering disciplines to deliver effective solutions.
- Leading the technical work for FEED and Detailed Designs, including design specifications, drawings, and operational support.
- Ensuring engineering and design work is reviewed thoroughly and successfully delivered.
- Contributing to execution contracting strategies that complement design, construction, and operational methods.
- Continuously improving performance and ensuring top-tier industry benchmarks.
- Leading HSE initiatives to ensure safety throughout the engineering phase of the project life cycle.
- Identifying and promoting new technologies to improve subsea engineering practices.
- Supporting the Engineering Lead to build a robust delivery capacity for subsea hardware and systems engineering.
This role requires you to focus on design, installation, commissioning, operations, and maintenance support with a strong emphasis on technical integrity, HSSE compliance, and delivery within cost, schedule, and quality constraints.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Offshore Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
- At least 10 years of post-graduate experience in engineering, with 7+ years as a Subsea Hardware & Systems Engineer in a project delivery environment.
- COREN registration or in the process of registration is required.
- TA3 Subsea Hardware & Systems certification (or ready to achieve TA3).
- Proven experience in subsea hardware and systems engineering, especially in mega projects.
- Expertise in interfacing with other engineering disciplines such as Wells, Subsurface, Process, and Structural.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and deepwater construction and integration challenges.
- Experience with operations and maintenance processes is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation abilities, and understanding of planning, economics, and auditing.
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and able to demonstrate leadership and innovation.
