We are currently seeking to hire a Welding Technician to join our team.

Job Summary

The Welding Technician will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, maintenance, repair, and servicing of mechanical equipment, instruments, and structures within our plant.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Shift Technicians to identify and address faulty equipment and machinery, ensuring prompt repairs.
  • Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks.
  • Perform corrective maintenance on assigned equipment/machinery within designated timeframes.
  • Assist in ensuring safety precautions are followed, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct weekly inventory checks of tools, ensuring alignment with the original tool list.
  • Carry out work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
  • Replace minor components in plant machinery as needed.
  • Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
  • Clean welding machines before they are put into operation.
  • Inspect welding cables for damage, ensuring proper insulation and grounding.
  • Ensure all welding terminals and power sources are in optimal condition.
  • Set up and regulate welding machines to achieve desired results.
  • Ensure all safety measures, including the use of PPE (welding safety goggles, gloves, helmets), are followed before beginning welding tasks.
  • Avoid the use of synthetic materials that may melt when exposed to sparks during welding.
  • Wear high-cut shoes to prevent sparks from entering.
  • Ensure that flammable materials are cleared from the welding area.
Requirements
  • Trade Test 1, 2, 3
  • WASC / GCE / SSCE with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience.
Skills & Competencies
  • Proficiency in arc and gas cutting and welding.
  • Knowledge of electrode applications and measurements.
  • Basic understanding of the cement production process.
  • In-depth knowledge of cement machinery, functions, and procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills.
  • Problem-solving ability and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent relationship management skills.
