Role Overview

The Factory Accountant will manage and supervise all accounting activities within the production facility. This role focuses on cost control, inventory tracking, financial reporting, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working closely with production and supply chain teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for factory operations
• Prepare regular management and financial reports
• Track production costs and analyze cost differences
• Recommend practical ways to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual factory accounts
• Manage inventory records for raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods
• Carry out stock valuation and reconciliation
• Support factory budgeting and financial forecasts
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Work with auditors during statutory and internal audits
• Provide financial analysis to support pricing and production decisions
• Collaborate with production and logistics teams on financial matters

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory control
• Experience using accounting software such as SAP, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar tools
• Good knowledge of IFRS and Nigerian tax regulations
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Good communication skills and ability to work with different departments
• ICAN or ACCA certification is an added advantage

Salary

Monthly salary range is between N250,000 and N350,000
