Role Overview

We are looking for a Junior Accountant with good accounting knowledge and practical experience in tax filing. The successful candidate will support daily financial operations, ensure accurate records, and help the company stay compliant with Nigerian tax laws. This role works closely with the Finance Manager and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

• Record financial transactions using bank statements and reconcile bank balances
• Prepare and submit monthly and yearly tax returns such as PAYE, VAT, withholding tax, corporate income tax, and other statutory taxes
• Organize and properly store expense invoices, tax documents, and payment records
• Support the Finance Manager in using the company’s financial management system for payments and staff reimbursements
• Work with external auditors during annual audits and assist with audit requirements
• Keep track of changes in tax regulations and share useful insights with management
• Ensure all accounting and tax activities follow Nigerian laws and guidelines

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACA, or ACCA is an added advantage
• Minimum of two years relevant accounting experience
• Good understanding of accounting standards and Nigerian tax regulations
• Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks or SAP is an advantage
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to stay organized

Salary

Pre tax monthly salary ranges from N180,000 to N230,000. This includes base pay, performance bonus, seniority allowance, and transport support.
