Position Overview: Occupational Health Nurse

Location: Lagos

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Occupational Health Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting clinic activities, managing medical emergencies, coordinating occupational health programs, and ensuring employee well-being at our operational sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support for clinic activities at operational sites.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate treatment.
  • Coordinate and manage occupational health programs.
  • Serve as the site’s Medical Officer of Health (MOH) contact.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and management regarding occupational health matters.
  • Conduct clinical assessments to evaluate fitness for work and assist with health screenings as required.
  • Provide emergency treatment for illness and injury and counsel employees on prevention strategies.
  • Maintain professional standards and documentation of services provided within the scope of your healthcare license.
  • Assist with departmental administration, including scheduling, record-keeping, and managing supplies, medications, and equipment.
  • Handle disability case management for work-related and personal illnesses or injuries.
  • Other responsibilities as directed by management.

Qualifications & Skills

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A Nursing Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Valid licensure in the location of operation.
  • Proven experience in clinical health risk assessment and fitness for work evaluations.
  • Proficiency in conducting medical tests such as ECG, audiometry, respiratory face-fit testing, and other occupational health assessments.
  • Experience in alcohol and drug urine specimen collection.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent leadership, team collaboration, and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to apply learning and adapt to new challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Health Education/Counseling.
  • Medical Emergency Response training.
  • Occupational Health Nursing experience.
