The Partnership Officer will support the Partnership Manager in ensuring quality programming through effective partnership management. This includes overseeing compliance with donor regulations, developing and managing sub-grants, maintaining strong relationships with partners, and contributing to the establishment of effective partnership systems. Additionally, the role involves training and mentoring national NGO staff to enhance their capacity and skills.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with NRC policies, tools, manuals, and guidelines related to sub-grants and partnerships.
- Manage project cycle management (PCM) processes and sub-grant management tools.
- Organize sub-grant meetings, maintain project documentation, and track donor requirements and deadlines.
- Maintain NRC’s partnership and sub-grant archiving system.
- Assist in developing partner proposals and reports, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
- Support due diligence and compliance monitoring of partner organizations.
- Provide administrative support to partnership management procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Partnerships Manager.
Specific Responsibilities:
Partnership Management and Liaison:
- Track and manage partnership agreements and project grants.
- Facilitate due diligence processes for new and existing partners.
- Organize key project meetings and ensure proper documentation.
- Draft and review sub-grant agreements and amendments, ensuring compliance with NRC regulations.
Partner Reporting and Compliance:
- Support the Partnerships Manager in providing accurate information to internal teams.
- Contribute to donor reports, ensuring compliance with NRC and donor requirements.
- Assist in financial and operational compliance monitoring of partner organizations.
- Review partner budgets to ensure alignment with project activities.
Capacity Development:
- Assist in assessing partner capacities and developing training programs.
- Create and distribute high-quality training materials.
- Coordinate and support training sessions for partner organizations.
- Document learning events and provide reports.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an NGO role involving grant or partnership management. At least one year with an INGO is preferred.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Sector Knowledge: Understanding of NGO operations and humanitarian sector dynamics.
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with donor regulations (UN, ECHO, USG, NFMA, SIDA, etc.).
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel within Nigeria as needed.
- Reporting Abilities: Proven experience in writing high-quality reports and proposals.
