A private number can also refer to a hidden number or an incoming call that does not show the caller’s number. A caller can decide to hide his or her number from the recipient. However, not all recipients will pick up such a call because many of those calls, if they are not from a network number, could be scam calls.

  Once they call, such a call will appear as an unknown or private caller, which means the caller ID has been hidden.

  This does not require any browsing phone before you can carry out this action; as long as your mobile phone supports calling, you are good to go. There is no limit to the number of calls.

  • Simply dial *67 before the call.
  • For instance: *67081662321232
  • Press send

How to know a private number

  A caller might hide his or her identity (phone number) from the recipient for some crucial reasons that remain unknown to the recipient. However, to identify an unknown number when the caller calls, there are two ways to do that without stress or the internet.

The first method is below:

  • When a caller calls with an unknown number, don’t pick it up.
  • Hold on for about 15 minutes after the call.
  • Simply dial *#30# to disclose the hidden number.
  • NOTE: On some occasions, it may take approximately 24 hours before the unknown number can appear.

The second method is below:

  This method may require a browsing phone, but if your phone is not a browsing phone, kindly adhere to the first method.

  • on your Android phone
  • Go to the Google Play Store and search for TrueCaller.
  • Download and install the app.
  • Whenever a private number calls you, truecaller will reveal the caller as much as your internet is on.

  In most cases, you may need to decline the call or use the “Auto Reject Option.” But not all phones support or have this option. You can check whether your phone has it or not by following the steps below:

  • Under the setting for the call option,
  • Select the auto-reject list
  • Select which call you want to block and unblock.
